The Ordinary Stuff is a weekly(ish) letter written to my kids mostly related to faith, family, worship, work, and whatever else is on my mind… written by their very ordinary father.
While I intend to publish every-other-week, you may hear more of me if there’s something that has me worked up (my family and friends tell me that it doesn’t take much!).
I started this endeavor to help me clarify my thoughts. Writing seems to be one of the best ways to do that. I’ve returned to it because there’s so much I want to share with my kids. Much of it they won’t understand at the moment (being 3 and 7 years old). My hope is that much of this will be conversation we can return to as they get older and—and not to get too depressing—but something they can return to after I’m gone.
I’m also hopeful for discussion, and I hope that my posts foster it. If a post of mine stirs a thought, please feel free to comment—especially if that thought challenges one of my ideas. I love a good argument, and I trust we can keep it civilized… we’re all adults here, right?
You will receive all my new posts here in your inbox as long as you are subscribed. You can also check out the website (https://www.theordinarystuff.com) to access past posts.
